Chief Hardin began his career with the department in 2000.   He promoted to Captain in 2007 where he served as a Company Officer until promoting to the rank of Battalion Chief in 2012. Hardin is currently serving as the Shift Commander for A-Shift.  He is tasked with oversight of the department's Technical Rescue Team.

Chief Hardin has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Arkansas.  He is in his first year of the four year Executive Fire Officer Program through the National Fire Academy.  His current applied research project is exploring how the fire service evaluates the service provided to their customers.

In 2016, Chief Hardin moved into the position of the Health and Safety Officer for the department.
